With the objective to create awareness on Islamic Investments & Capital Markets, Al Meezan Investments in association with Karachi Stock Exchange held a seminar on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Bahadurabad, Karachi. “Islamic financial market has witnessed phenomenal growth in the last decade in Pakistan and Al Meezan as the premier and the largest Islamic Asset Management Company with assets under management of Rs. 61.79 billion as on March 31, 2015, have played a pivotal role in creating awareness and catering to the needs of investors with a diverse range of Shariah compliant investment solutions” said Mr. Mohammad Shoaib, CFA, CEO Al Meezan Investments, during the seminar.
Mr. Mohammad Shoaib, CFA, explained the mutual funds as an investment vehicle while highlighting its features and benefits. He also briefed on Islamic mutual funds industry in Pakistan and the market share of Al Meezan in the industry. He said that mutual fund as a structured mechanism helps individuals to generate wealth as per their financial objective and risk appetite. He mentioned the performance of Al Meezan and the consistency in providing competitive returns to its investors. Also, Al Meezan has recently launched Meezan Savings Plans which are designed to enable the investors to systematically save as per the risk appetite to achieve their desired future goals. The plan comes with an in built Takaful feature to provide a financial cover against the uncertainty of investor’s life.
Mr. Nadeem Naqvi, Managing Director KSE, gave an overview of KSE’s performance with a perspective to Pakistan’s capital markets. He highlighted the performance of Pakistan’s stock market as one of the best regional markets in the past.
During the past month a similar seminar was held in North Nazimabad, Karachi with a very positive response. A series of such session will be conducted in the coming months in other cities as well.
